Olivia Palermo x Chelsea28 Fall 2019 Collection: First Look
Olivia Palermo’s Chelsea28 fall 2019 collection for is finally here, and a single look at it will cheerfully overwhelm you with cool, Seventies-inspired vibes! As we browse through theOlivia Palermo x Chelsea28 fall 2019 line-up, we can’t help but get instantly smitten by Olivia’s unique style mixture of nostalgic boho-chic vibes and more contemporary lines, the refined cuts of which greatly live up to the sophisticated Chelsea28 name.
When Olivia Palermo announced her fall 2019 four-part collaboration with Nordstrom’s label Chelsea28 earlier this year, those who love the It-girl’s edgy style began counting the days until autumn, as they knew the pieces were going to be too cool to handle. Unsurprisingly, the garments are cool and covetable indeed.
When combining different patterns together, Palermo particularly focused on rich colors, as she specifically wanted to embody all the things that come along with the fall season, namely new projects, new stages in life, and new perspectives and anticipations.
When asked by about the inspiration behind the collection, Palermo explained she and those at Chelsea28 Studio “wanted to continue to play with styles that layer or mix and match easily according to your personal taste. We definitely continued with the 70’s feel of the spring collection but added fall colors and elements like tie necklines that you can play with in different ways to have a retro or modern feel”.
The collection thus plays with versatility and different attitudes, with pieces that not only explore all of the autumnal-inspired patterns and themes, but also different styles, such as more conventionally feminine, as well as more androgynous looks. Floor-length layered frocks get alternated with modernized pinstripe suits, while cropped billowy culottes get combined with uber-delicate butterfly-sleeve tunics and mannish Oxford shoes.
To further emphasize the duality of the collection, Olivia Palermo took the time to study and experiment with fabrics, often mixing them together trying to either lighten up or darken the overall outfits.
“Texture was also key. We loved pairing light, romantic elements like ruffles and lace with edgy leather or menswear-inspired tailored pieces. Materials like chiffon have a lot of movement and add an extra-pretty element to balance the menswear styles,” she continued.
As for the volumes, for this Olivia Palermo x Chelsea28 fall 2019 collection she chose to greatly vary in style depending on the single outfit’s designed motif. While the casual-chic proposals got revamped with airy and cozy lines, often translated to bell-bottom jeans and blouses with plunging V-necklines, the more elegant staples feature sinuous lines that sensually hug the bodies, harmoniously baring large proportions of skin (unless worn with a plain white t-shirt underneath).
Palermo also adapted some of the pieces according to her signature style, so if you are looking for sharp, clean-cut lines and textured materials, this Chelsea 28 collection might be the right thing to check out.
The price tags of the Olivia Palermo x Chelsea28 fall 2019 collection pieces range from to 9, and the line will be available for purchase at Nordstrom stores and online at Nordstrom.com starting from tomorrow, September 6th.
